First run in with the law . . .

So yesterday Justice (our dog) escaped from the backyard at our rental house. We spent all day looking and putting fliers up. So todaywe got up early and went back over there to look again. After that we went to the shelters, there are 3 in our area. First the SPCA, nothing. Just lots of poor little faces hoping you'll pick them and take them home. Then the county shelter, again nothing just the same as the SPCA. There was this poor little dog with only 1 eye, another dog had apperently biting him is what the staff said. Then off to the city shelter, where I had been turned away yesterday when we showed up 1 min after they closed. So today we went looking there. 1st kennel, 2nd, 3rd nothing. Then as I was getting ready to pass the 4th there he was. Looking and excited to see me. I think the poor staff member thought I was crazy because I was jumping up and down! So back into the office to post bail for our little runaway. He's back home now, sleeping like a baby.

Longer than I thought

Man time does fly by! We have officially moved into our new house, and have begun the process of making it home. We finally got the other house fixed up and ready to rent and even have a renter. That takes a lot of pressure off us. Once we get all the house painted I will post new pics showing it off. Some new turn of events at James' work has left us thinking and pondering what to do. As soon as we know more I'll let everyone know. I hope everyone is having a wonderful March.

Seriously slacking!!!

Ok so I know it's been forever since I posted anything. (mom reminds me everytime I talk to her LOL) I haven't taken any new pictures lately because I want it to be a surprise when it's all done. Lots of little and big things have been done though. We know have appliances, granite, lighting fistures, and carpet. Just this week they did the front landscaping.
We have begun the countdown to closing and I have been busy packing, working, packing, making appointments for services to be turned on , and of course packing. I swear I'm not moving again, and if we do, I am going to make sure I'm pregnant so I don't have to deal with it. But wait I said that last time I moved, hmm oh well!! As soon as we close and get it painted there will be lots of photos.
Also be looking soon for photos of my new nephew coming in the next few weeks.

Chrismas and more

Over the past 2 weeks a lot has happened at the house. We now have all the cabinets in place, paint and trim on the walls, the outside painted and tile on the floors. There is even the tile in the master bath shower, tub surround and counter. It's getting so close the house will be all done by January 29th for the final walk thru. They will then have 1 week to fix anything that needs to be fixed before we close.
We also had a great Christmas. We didn't do much for each other this year because of the house, but we still had a blast. We both worked Christmas Eve. In the morning we slept for awhile then drove to my parents house. Yesterday we had James' dad and brothers over for Christmas at our house. James wasn't feeling good so he went to bed, but everyone else had a lot of fun. He has now made a full recovery.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and have a great New Year!!

Busy Day . . .

We had a very productive day on Friday. It started out with James deciding to fix the roof. There was a smallish spot that was starting to leak, so before it started to rain he wanted to fix it. We went to Home Depot and he got all kinds of stuff for it. Meanwhile as I sat in the truck waiting for him there was a weird guy either selling drugs or stolen property. He kept walking around saying "Hey I got a deal for you". Needless to say I immediately locked my door and started planning my escape. LOL
After he was done getting all the supplies we went over to the new house to take a look. The day before we were there and the roof tiles were still not on and there was a roof vent exposed to the outside. James was freaking out, so much so that he took it upon himself to take a piece of plywood upstairs and reached out a window to cover it. So Friday when we went by they started to put the tiles in place. They also had 2 of the 3 columns in front of the house covered in stone, and the stair railings up. It's amazing how quick it is going and how much it really looks like a house. We were over the other night and it was freezing outside, but inside it was nice. The insulation is AWESOME!!! Before we know it we will be moving in.
After our daily check on the house we went to Davis Ranch just outside of Sacramento to get our Christmas tree. We found the perfect one right away. James cut it down and home we went. As soon as we got home to the roof like Santa he went. Later that night since I got the night off we put the tree up and decorated it. All my childhood ornaments, our new wedding ones, and all the ours we have collected went up. After it was done we sat back and just admired the tree and each other. I can't believe it is already Christmas, before we know it it will be Christmas again!
